Wacko for Ribs in Waco!
It is hard to argue with the fact that everyone loves a good plate of barbeque ribs…and deep down in the heart of Tehas (I know it’s spelled Texas), good ribs are like good religion. Many a vegetarian have been tempted and have ultimately fallen off the wagon when confronted with a big ole, juicy rack of ribs.
Well earlier this week, a story broke about a man in Wacko, Tehas (again, I know), who didn’t just fall off the wagon for some ribs…he went plain wacko (which apparently people in Waco are known for). According to authorities, back in 2011, this man stole a rack of ribs from a grocery store. He was confronted in the parking lot by an employee of the store because he had a large “rack of rib” shaped bulge in his shirt…both strange and conspicuous. When the man reached for the sky, the ribs fell to the ground (not his actual ribs, but the ones he was hiding under his shirt). When asked if he had anything else, the man said he had a knife too. Now I’m not sure if he was threatening the store clerk with a knife or if he was just stating that he had a knife that he was eventually going to use to eat the ribs. Either way, the knife comment quickly changed the crime from a simple shoplifting to a more serious crime. And when we say serious, we mean “Are you Shitting me” serious. The man got a whopping 50 years for his crime (just for the record, he had 9 previous convictions). That’s F****d up.
Anyway, do you think the punishment fits the crime? 50 years for 12 ribs? I heard somewhere that it costs around 40k/year to house an inmate in prison, I might be off. But howdo the “Republican” small government people of Texas justify paying $2 million tax payer dollars for this Horse S**t.
By the way, there is a silver lining to this story. The prison that the man will be sent to does serve ribs on Thursday nights…just kidding, but wouldn’t that have been ironic. Read the original story below. But first read the quote from this dips**t DA. (can you say horny for convictions)
“This verdict shows that the citizens of this county will not tolerate a continued disrespect and disregard for other people and their property,” said Assistant District Attorney J.R. Vicha, who prosecuted Ward with Chris Bullajian. “People who choose to do so will be dealt with seriously and appropriately.”
