Florida man murders wife posts confessional with picture of dead body on Facebook

florida_Derek MedinaDerek Medina shot and killed his wife in their South Miami home. He then took a picture of her dead body and then posted it on Facebook along with this confessional:

“I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news. my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope you understand me.”

After he posted his confessional Derek changed his clothes, made a few calls to some relatives, and then made his way down to the Miami-Dade Police Department. He told authorities that there was a domestic dispute involving his wife, Jennifer Alfonso, that escalated into a shooting at his South Miami home. He told the authorities that they were having a verbal dispute upstairs in the couple’s home, which concluded with Derek pointing a gun at his wife, and then his wife telling him that she wanted a divorce.

They made their way downstairs and things began to get physical. Derek told authorities that his wife began punching him. Derek didn’t like being punched, so he went back upstairs and grabbed the gun that he previously threatened his wife with. He went back downstairs with the gun, the wife grabbed a knife, Derek took away the knife, there was more punching and then, Derek told authorities, he shot her several times.

Miami-Dade police officers went to Derek’s house and found his wife dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Derek was right, he probably will be going to prison for a long time.

If you are in to self-help books the name Derek Medina may sound familiar. Derek Medina is an author of multiple self-help books, and, ironically, one is titled “How I Save Someone’s Life and Marriage and Family Problems Thru Communication”.
